These rankings are indexes of health outcomes and factors related to health outcomes. The rankings provide a picture of a population's health and help communities identify starting points for improving the overall health of their members. The counties are ranked best to worst, 1 to 159. In general, rural counties tend to have worse health outcomes than urban counties. To find out more about how the rankings are determined, go to http://www.countyhealthrankings.org/explore-health-rankings/our-methods.
